As opposed to translators, interpreters seldom use technology in their practice. This training aims to bring interpreters up to speed. The main components of the training are:

Ms Maha El-Metwally is a conference interpreter for the languages: Arabic (A), English (B), French and Dutch (C). She works for a wide range of international organizations, including the European Institutions and the United Nations. She is a member AIIC, The Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL) and the American Translators Association (ATA) where she serves on the Leadership Council of the Interpreting Division. She is also a Board member and member of the Admissions Committee of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI). Maha has an MA in interpreter training from the University of Geneva. She is associated with a number of universities both in the UK and abroad where she gives professionalization talks. She is passionate about technology in the field of interpreting and offers courses on the subject.
All AIIC courses are non-profit.
Courses will be confirmed when registration fees cover the cost of the course or cancelled at the latest six weeks before the date of the course.
Participants withdrawing before the course is confirmed will be refunded.
Participants withdrawing after the course is confirmed will only be refunded if a substitute participant enrolls.

By registering for this event or function, you give your express consent to AIIC, its partners or other third parties, to take photographs or make audio-visual recordings of participants, their presence, speeches and interventions. AIIC reserves the right (and you hereby grant AIIC the free, worldwide and perpetual right) to use your portrait, image, silhouette, voice, video and film footage, in any media or platforms, whether now known or hereafter created, to promote, market and advertise AIIC’s events or functions, as well as its activities. These photographs or audio-visual recordings will be published on AIIC website (https://aiic.net – https://members.aiic.net) and social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Weibo, as well as in the AIIC Repository (https://repository.aiic.org). If you do not agree to the above, you must inform us at least  days prior to the event or function, in which case we will find you a seat in an area of the room where no photos will be taken or videos made. AIIC and its partners are not responsible for photos taken or videos made by other participants.
